What is a Prosthodontist?
Prosthodontics is one of the nine recognized dental specialties accredited by the American Dental Association. Prosthodontists are dental specialists who are trained in the advanced restoration and replacement of missing teeth and related oral-facial structures. Prosthodontists receive three additional years of training after dental school. They are trained to diagnose and treat patients who may be missing teeth or whose teeth may be significantly damaged. This dental specialty uniquely combines the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance and health.
Who needs a Prosthodontist?
Prosthodontists see patients of all ages who have complex or unusual needs that may be due to trauma, wear, disease, or specific medical and genetic conditions. Advanced training provides the prosthodontist with the knowledge and skills to treat these complex issues as well as the outstanding ability to address and treat your cosmetic needs.
We provide a full range of specialty services including crowns, veneers, implants, comprehensive dental reconstruction, dentures, partial dentures, cosmetic procedures, maxillofacial prosthetics, the needs of cancer patients, as well as TMJ and bruxism therapy. As specialists, we work with your general dentists and other specialists to provide the highest level of care.
Most of the procedures we offer require significant laboratory support. We work with laboratory technicians of the highest caliber, who are some of the best, both nationally and internationally. We could not offer the standard of treatment we provide without their dedicated support and work closely with them as we strive to bring our patients excellent care.
